We are recruiting for a Community Mental Health Nurse to join our team based at the Des Roches Square in Witney. You’ll provide assessment and evidence-based treatment interventions to a wide range of adults within Witney and the surrounding towns and villages including Carterton, Eynsham, Bampton and Burford . This is a fantastic opportunity to develop senior clinical and leadership skills within a team committed to the wellbeing and development of all staff.
Working in the beautiful town of Witney, we focus on the recovery of patients through a multidisciplinary (MDT) approach, with expertise from doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, support workers and psychological therapies staff alongside regular clinical team meetings. We strive to provide person centred evidence-based care to patients, where possible working collaboratively with their families and carers.
This role carries an incentive premium of £3,500 which will be paid in instalments over an 18 month period. Please note that this scheme is not open to existing employees of Oxford Health and is subject to a claw back clause.
Main duties of the job
Work as an autonomous practitioner in the multi-disciplinary teamundertaking specialist nursing assessments in collaboration with the service user and their families/carers and presenting back to the wider MDT. Work in partnership with service users and their families/carers to ensure the development of a treatment plan to facilitate their safety, promote their well-being and support their independence and inclusion in the community. This may include working closely with partner agencies. Deliver evidence-based interventions following NICE guidelines to promote recovery and relapse prevention in a variety of settings. Regularly review care and outcomes, supporting service users to complete clinical outcome measures and monitoring progress and adapting treatment options as required. Knowledge of common physical health conditions and their management, and an ability to complete cardiometabolic assessment
You will be supported by an experienced leadership team from across the professions who facilitate forums for Nursing and Occupational Therapists and hold your development as a priority. We offer regular supervision and you will be encouraged and supported to undertake any training relevant to your professional development.

The Older Adult CMHT North & West Oxfordshire base is based at Des Roches Square, a stones throw from the centre of the beautiful historic market town of Witney.
The Older Adult CMHT supports adults over 65 yrs of age who experience a wide range of mental health conditions including dementia. We are committed to the person-centred recovery approach in all our clinical work and pride ourselves in offering a high-quality service.
The CMHT is a wonderful team to work in and this role offers an opportunity to develop senior clinical and leadership skills. The Management team are committed to the wellbeing and development of the staff working in the team.

Person specification
Education and Training
Essential criteria
Professional qualification (degree or equivalent) and current valid professional registration. Evidence of continuing professional development since qualification.
Desirable criteria
Post graduate qualifications specifically relating to an appropriate aspect of care or management.
Occupational Experience
Essential criteria
Appropriate experience and a high level of knowledge about community mental health care with older adults. Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team and an understanding of CMHTs and interdisciplinary working. Understanding and experience of risk management both clinically and operationally. Good understanding of clinical governance and your professional legal responsibilities. Experience of supervising other staff.
Desirable criteria
Good knowledge of community services in the local area. Awareness of National and local policy concerning mental health guidance. Experience of conducting clinical audit and presenting the resulting analyse. Experience of supervising students on placements.
Skills required – IT / Admin
Essential criteria
IT literacy, to include the Microsoft suite of programmes. Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
