Job summary

The NHS Talking Therapies Service in South West Hertfordshire is looking to employ 2 full time Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners on a permanent basis to join our team in Watford. These roles, working closely wiht the PWPs they supervise, play a central role in ensuring our service is of the best quality, with the best outcomes for our service users.

Hertfordshire was one of the original 11 Pathfinder sites for the development of IAPT Services, commencing in 2007/8 and has since developed through 1st and 2nd wave expansion sites to provide a well -resourced and innovative IAPT service across the whole of the county. Our Trust has been awarded 'Outstanding' status by the Care quality Commission and our IAPT Service is APPS accredited.

Main duties of the job

This is a blended post with a weekly pattern of working one to three days on site, that need to include Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursday, in Watford, and some from home. A key part of the role will be to provide clinical supervision for PWPs within the service. The Senior PWP will work alongside the Wellbeing Team Service Manager, Team Leaders and our other Senior PWPs and Senior Clinicians and will receive their own clinical supervision from the Deputy Clinical Lead within the team. There will be opportunities for ongoing professional development as well as the chance to contribute to further service will be an experienced PWP with at least 1 year post qualification experience and with a recognised IAPT qualification in Step 2 intervention and will be registered or working towards PWP accreditation with the BABCP or BPS. The position provides an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced PWP to lead in the further development of the PWP role as the service grows and ensure our team of PWPs are supported and supervised effectively.

Job responsibilities

Undertake appropriate clinical supervision on a regular basis in accordancewith the relevant professional guidelines and policies Take personal responsibility for achieving agreed clinical activity in accordance with service policies. To develop an area of special interest, to the level whereby the post-holdercould become a resource of information for the whole service. Adhere to the policies and procedures of Hertfordshire Partnership Foundation Trust. Maintain appropriate clinical records in keeping with service operational policy Participate in setting and review of objectives for the post on an annual basis Participate in activities of continuing professional development (CPD) on an annual basis. Attend professional meetings as appropriate. Ensure that client confidentiality is protected at all times. Co-ordinate and liaise between different staff groups including Assistantpsychologists, High Intensity Therapists. Support the development and delivery of interactive psycho-education within a CBT framework to large groups of Service Users.
