Job summary
An exciting opportunity is available for a Qualified Health Play Specialist working within the Paediatric team, based on the general Paediatric Ward, to join our Trust.
Consideration would be given to a suitably experienced play worker with the willingness to undertake the Health Play Specialist training.
Within your role, you will be working with a small team of health play specialists, creating a child focused environment where age and developmentally appropriate and therapeutic play can take place.

Main duties of the job
Plan, implement and evaluate care using therapeutic play to help prepare and distract children undergoing interventions and procedures.
Support other departments within the hospital for procedures and investigations.
Work alongside the therapy teams to create a structured day for those children and young people requiring inpatient rehabilitation.
Act as link with education to support with schoolwork during admission
Work with and support families that are referred to the HPS clinic in the outpatient department if needed.
