An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to work within the Norfolk Adult Learning Disability Service.
Learning disabilities (LD) is a challenging yet rewarding area to work in. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join a friendly team of band 6 dietitians and a band 7 team lead. The learning disability dietetic team is closely aligned to five locality based teams across Norfolk which are integrated with social care. Therefore, multi-disciplinary working is a key element within this role.
The successful applicant will hold and manage their own caseload of patients. You will assess and treat patients for a wide range of nutritional concerns and liaise with a number of different agencies to meet their nutritional and health needs. You will also be involved in providing training and education to patients, carers, other support staff and professionals on a range of nutritional topics. There will be opportunities to become involved in service development and quality improvement projects.
Whilst you will be line-managed and supervised by the team lead, you will be supported by the whole team, as well as receiving support from the learning disability health team manager for that locality.
Your base is likely to be Park View Resource Centre in Kings Lynn as you will be working predominantly within the West and North LD Teams. However, this is negotiable and will be taken into consideration with the needs of the service. You may be expected to provide countywide input and cover as needed. Therefore, travel is required. Whilst you will have an office base, alternative working arrangements are a key feature of this role e.g. working from home and other sites. Flexible working arrangements can be discussed.
The learning disability dietetic team are part of a wider community dietetic team who are based at Thorpe Health Centre. Free parking is available on site.
Come and join an outstanding organisation, as rated by the CQC, where we value our staff.
The dietetic department hold regular peer review sessions, shared lunch and learn sessions and away days. NCH&C also have many internal learning opportunities. The Trust takes a positive and proactive approach to supporting staff in their personal development.
To support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, all staff are expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work and to consistently demonstrate NCHC’s Trust values of: Community, Compassion and Creativity.
