Job summary

This is an excitingopportunity for an enthusiastic, committed and disciplined Research Nurse tojoin the team. You will be working as part of the Research Team, working on awide portfolio of clinical research trials predominately gynaecology.

Main duties of the job

To support the delivery ofhigh quality research across STSFT.

To co-ordinate the delivery of multiple NIHR researchprojects, managing a caseload of study participants within the context ofvarious clinical commercial and non-commercial research projects. This willinvolve screening, recruitment, education and monitoring of researchparticipants including the collection and documentation of accurate data whichwill involve working in outpatient clinics, wards, and research office areas

The Post holder should be a first levelregistered nurse RGN with 2 years post registration experience with evidence ofspecialist knowledge and skills in research through practical experience and/ortheoretical study. The role is Monday - Friday 9 - 5pm

To work with the R&I leadclinician and others to help develop the research infrastructure within theorganisation.

To participate inresearch/audit projects, managing a caseload of study participants within thecontext of various clinical research projects. This will involve screening,recruitment, education and monitoring of research participants including thecollection and documentation of accurate data which will involve working inoutpatient clinics, wards, and research office areas.

To work with colleagues toidentify both commercial and non-commercial studies relevant to this Trust andencourage participation in, and recruitment to those studies.

To support the implementationof research findings into clinical practice, contributing to staff educationand training activities.

To co-ordinate researchactivity across the Trust in multiple specialities

Written; ability to produce written reports Interpersonal; ability to engage with trial subjects and maintain relationship of trust and confidence Ability to work across boundaries, integrating with multidisciplinary staff in relation to research trials Computer literate with experience of Microsoft Office packages (including word, excel, powerpoint and outlook) Evidence of attention to detail and accuracy in data collection
