Are you a versatile 3D and 2D artist who wants to work across multiple teams on one of gaming’s most well-known MMORPGs?

As an Art Generalist on RuneScape, you will contribute across a broad range of 3D & 2D visual elements on the game. You’ll have the opportunity to create characters, props, outfits, weapons, concept art & illustrations, delivering high quality work across multiple art functions in the team.

Reporting to the Associate Art Director, this is a role that will have significant impact on the productivity of the team, and is an opportunity for an artist with an adaptable and versatile skillset to flex their creative muscles across a variety of different avenues.
You’ll work with the talented RuneScape team, to keep bringing delightful and memorable experiences to players all over the world.

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Create high quality 3D character and environment assets ranging across creatures, humans, weapons, objects, architecture kits, and set dressing for RuneScape.
  • Produce high quality concept art for characters, environments, and objects, ensuring the concept is on-style and consistent with the established art direction and collaborate with 3D Artists to bring these concepts to life.
  • Creating high quality Icons and illustrations for in game UI and marketing purposes.
  • Work with a variety of industry standard tools including Photoshop, Illustrator, Zbrush, Maya, Substance Painter, and Marmoset Tool bag 3 to bring your ideas to life.
  • Work closely with the wider art team to ensure assets are consistently designed & optimised in line with the Art Style of RuneScape.
  • Work closely with Content Developers to ensure assets are correctly implemented in the game engine.
  • Provide feedback to artists in group reviews and support more junior members of the team in day-to-day production.
  • Collaborating with the rest of the team to aid with future art asset and project ideas.
  • Collaborate with the design team to solve problems where art and design meet.

 

 

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience in and a portfolio demonstrating high quality 3D Game Art across both characters and props/environments.
  • Demonstrable experience creating 2D concept art and illustrations for video games.
  • Solid experience using DCC for games including Maya & Z-brush.
  • Experienced as an artist on more stylised games.
  • Proven experience of working on a variety of different tasks and a willingness to have the flexibility to work across multiple different art disciplines on the team.
