The role

We are looking for a ‘Major Projects’ Project Manager to lead, drive and deliver complex, multi-million-pound projects. You’ll be responsible for the overall ownership 33 - 132kV switchgear and primary substation projects from award to completion for various renewable technologies. 


You’ll be a key point of contact and will work closely with the Commercial, Design and Supply Chain departments to ensure our projects are delivered first time, every time against budget and in full.  

An idea of what you'll be doing: 
  • You’ll design, maintain and own programs of work for projects, ensuring always accurate, and that your projects are completed on time and in budget, routinely.   
  • You’ll provide Project planning, Milestone management, Scope management, Resource forecasting; Financial Management; Change Management across the project portfolio. 
  • You’re able to maximise profitability for the business, considering innovative technologies, better practices, or sustainable solutions to deliver project efficiencies wherever possible to do so. 
  • You’ll attend site when necessary to troubleshoot, monitor quality, oversea progression or conduct audits. 
  • You’ll communicate routine updates and reports at an operational and commercial level, internally and externally. 



Requirements

When you join you will go through our top notch induction and onboarding process, and have opportunities to develop further through our in house training academy.

You'll have a proven track record of:

  • Best practice project management with extensive experience, particularly within the electrical utility industry.  
  • Understanding the project life cycle from ownership to completion along with an awareness and management of cross functional interdependencies   
  • Problem solving, strategic thinking and being agile in challenging situations, with the ability to find appropriate cost-effective solutions. 
  • Excellent communication skills, adapting your communication style when required along with the ability to work alongside multiple teams at any one time. 
  • Top notch organisation and coordination skills, with the ability to drive and deliver complex, multi-million-pound projects. 

You'll already have experience & qualifications in:

  • Working for an ICP or DNO at EHV voltage levels (33-132kV)   
  • Project Management, with a qualification or equivalent experience (e.g. Prince 2, APM, PMI)  
  • The use of Productivity and Collaboration Software such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint etc. across multiple platforms such as smart phones, tablets, laptops etc 
  • The use of MS Project or equivalent Project Management software 
  • Full UK driving license.
