We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineering Manager to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our Engineering team, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating capital projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Project Leadership: Lead and manage capital projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Project Coordination: Coordinate and balance the workload of the Project Engineering team, ensuring that projects are progressed efficiently and effectively.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support to Project Engineers, ensuring that they have the necessary resources and expertise to deliver projects to the required standards.
- Project Resource Management: Manage the allocation of resources to capital projects, ensuring that the necessary skills and expertise are available to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Cost Estimation: Generate cost estimates to support new business enquiries, working closely with the EU Engineering department as required.
- Client Liaison: Liaise with clients during the audit or implementation phase, ensuring that their needs are met and that projects are delivered to the required standards.
- Project Management: Lead and manage major capital projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Engineering Standards: Develop and manage Engineering standards, technical specifications, and capital projects cost estimating.
- EH&S Requirements: Ensure that EH&S requirements are met at all times, by all project specs and designs.
- Regulatory Audit: Support regulatory audit as required, ensuring that the company's policies and procedures are complied with.
- Training and Development: Train and develop Project Engineers in the team, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and expertise to deliver projects to the required standards.
- Relevant Engineering Degree: Hold a relevant Engineering degree, with Chartered Engineer status preferred.
- Experience: Have experience of pharmaceutical type construction and/or equipment installation projects, with a strong understanding of GMP and ISPE guidelines.
- Computer Literacy: Be computer literate, with experience of ACAD, Microsoft Project, Word, and Excel.
- Project Management Methodology: Have expertise in Stage Gate type Project Management Methodology.
- Hands-on Experience: Have hands-on experience of controlling many projects simultaneously.
