We are looking for anenthusiastic and motivated registered nurse to join the adult bladder and bowelservice.

The base for this post willbe Innovation House, Bishop Auckland, this is a Countywide Community post solocality work will be required according to service need. This role involves a mixture of workingwithin clinics, home visits, care homes and office environment.

The post will allow you towork in a specialist service and develop specialist skills / knowledge andexpertise in bladder and bowel dysfunction.This is an exciting opportunity to become part of an innovative andforward thinking community based team. You will make a valuable contribution tothe way local bladder and bowel services are organised and delivered in orderto provide high quality, cost effective services to people living in CountyDurham and Darlington.

Therole is supportive of family friendly hours working predominantly Monday toFriday (day hours, eg: 08:30-16:30. Wewould consider applicants who would prefer part time working or job share.

Main duties of the job

Thesuccessful applicant will have a passion for delivering high quality care topeople with bladder and bowel dysfunction. You will be dynamic and caring withexcellent communication skills as patient education and support is an importantcomponent of the job.

Priorexperience in bladder and boweldysfunction and the promotion of continence is desirable, however, this is anopportunity to develop specialist knowledge and skills. Your professionaldevelopment will be supported by a mentor and regular clinical supervision.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

Job responsibilities

Assessmentand management of patients with bladder and/or bowel dysfunction.

Performing clinics and homevisits within County Durham and Darlington, these will be a combination oftelephone and face to face assessments and reviews.

Thisis an exciting development role therefore pathways and ideas will need to beexplored to further enhance this service.
