About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Newly Qualified Paediatric Nurse to join our team at County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to our patients and contributing to the delivery of excellent patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patients' needs and develop, implement, and evaluate programmes of care.
  • Organise the delivery of nursing care, deploying staff effectively.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, patients, and families, ensuring that all parties are informed and involved in care planning.
  • Adhere to NMC standards of record keeping and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Participate in nursing audit and service improvement activities, contributing to the development of evidence-based practice.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to junior staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Contribute to the day-to-day management of the Directorate, working collaboratively with colleagues to provide an effective and efficient nursing service.
Person Specification
  • Registered Nurse (adult or child) on part 1 of the NMC register.
  • Valid registration with the NMC.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Awareness of health and safety/clinical governance issues.
  • Basic IT skills, including email and word processing.
  • NMC English language proficiency at the required level.
  • NMC Registered Nurse Qualification (adult/child) due to register.
  • BSc 3 years or MSC 2 years.
