Job Description:

We are currently seeking passionate and dedicated Early Career Teachers (ECTs) in English to join our team and teach across secondary schools in Waterlooville. This is an excellent opportunity for newly qualified teachers to begin their teaching careers in a supportive environment, with a focus on developing their skills and expertise in English language and literature.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Assess and monitor students' progress, providing constructive feedback to help them improve.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Collaborate with experienced colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies.
  • Prepare students for examinations, ensuring they meet curriculum standards and achieve their academic potential.
  • Participate in school meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development sessions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and attainment.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or nearing completion of teacher training.
  • A degree in English or a related field.
  • Enthusiasm for teaching English and a passion for helping students achieve their full potential.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK national curriculum for English.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • The ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a supportive teaching environment.
