The Product Manager will oversee a specific segment of smartmicro's traffic management products, helping to define optimal technical features for market success and ensuring an excellent customer experience. The role involves maintaining close contact with customers, collecting requirements and feedback, and supporting the definition of product specifications and roadmaps. The Product Manager is also responsible for documenting products, gathering and structuring technical content, and understanding users' documentation needs. This position reports to the Business Solutions Director.

Your Tasks

  • As Product Manager, you own a part of the traffic management product portfolio (following a period of on-the-job learning)
  • You collect and document product requirements
  • Also, develop and maintain installation and setup documentation (e.g. technical application notes) as needed for customers of smartmicro products
  • The documentation content has to be accurate, clear, concise, consistent, and complete
  • You are responsible for the Release and distribution of the product documentation
  • You maintain consistency between product terminology and documentation and coordinate translations of those
  • Your tasks include the engage of hands-on product testing
  • Multiple tasks have to be handled simultaneously, aligned with product release schedules
  • You participate in cross-functional product teams and communicate requirements and customer feedback to the technical development teams
Your Strengths

  • Next to knowledge of a CMS (content management system), you have advanced skills in MS Office
  • You are motivated to understand and learn complex and new technologies quickly
  • Flexibility to handle product changes during development and meet release deadlines characterized you
  • Also, strong verbal communication skills for regular consultations with team members from R&D, business solutions, and technical support
  • You have organisational skills and the ability to distinguish between irrelevant and important technical content
  • You are willing to evaluate each product (hands-on) thoroughly to understand product installation and setup
  • Next to excellent english writing skills, the ability to speak german would be an advantage
