We are looking for a Production Kitter who will play a vital role with the Coopers Fire Production team. The role will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely kitting of materials for production, managing Bills of Materials (BOMs), and utilizing SAGE software to support inventory management and production planning. This role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in using SAGE for maintaining inventory accuracy and managing material workflows. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that the production team has the necessary materials to complete orders efficiently


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inventory Management: Use SAGE software to manage and track inventory levels, ensuring that stock levels are maintained to support production schedules.
  • Bill of Materials (BOM) Management: Create, update, and maintain accurate BOMs in SAGE, ensuring that all components and materials are correctly listed and available for production.
  • Material Handling: Ensure that all materials are correctly labelled, organised, and stored in accordance with company procedures to support efficient kitting and production processes.
  • Quality Control: Perform checks to ensure that the correct materials are kitted and assembled for each production order, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the production, procurement, and inventory teams to ensure timely availability of materials and to resolve any material shortages or discrepancies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline kitting, inventory management, and production workflows.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Follow all health and safety guidelines, ensuring the workspace is organised and materials are handled safely and efficiently.
  • Working: Close working with the Stock Controller to ensure KANBAN levels are correct and prevent any stock outs


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Experience: 

  • Proven experience as a Production Kitter or similar role within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • SAGE Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of SAGE or similar ERP/MRP software for inventory management and BOM handling.
  • BOM Expertise: Solid understanding of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and experience managing BOM data within ERP systems.
  • Detail-oriented: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in kitting, material handling, and record-keeping.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments to ensure smooth production processes.
  • Organisational Skills: Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve material discrepancies or shortages in a timely and efficient manner.
