We are looking for a talented and experienced Audio Lead to join the studio. The successful candidate will be
responsible for overseeing aspects of audio content creation, from conceptualization to implementation,
ensuring that audio significantly enhances the player experience. Reporting to the Audio Manager and
collaborating across functions, but particularly with the Creative Director, cinematics and motion capture
teams, they will help to run our in-house audio facilities and staff. The role is based in the studio for three
days per week.
Responsibilities:
• Leading the Audio team in the management, development, and implementation of sound assets for
video games.
• Collaborating with other department leads (Art, Design, Programming) to ensure the audio
complements and enhances the overall game experience.
• Managing and mentoring junior audio staff, helping ensure world-class audio output.
• Being responsible for the creation of sound effects, ambient sound, voiceovers, and / or musical composition.
• Ensuring audio assets are optimized without compromising on quality.
• Staying updated with the latest trends and technologies in audio production, movies, TV and
video games to ensure the sound is contemporary and AAA.
• Assisting with budgeting for the audio department, including software, hardware, and outsourcing
needs.
Requirements:
• Good management skills• A passion for videogame audio• A deep understanding of how audio impacts user experience in games.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, capable of motivating teams.
• An understanding of how audio relates to videogame accessibility.
Technical Skills:
• Strong technical skills with audio software (e.g., Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton) and middleware (e.g.,
FMOD, Wwise).
• Knowledge of Unreal Engine.
• Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and MS Project.
Qualifications:
• Ideally a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Audio Engineering, Music Production, or related field.
• Experience in sound production, preferably in the video game industry.
• Proven track record of leading an audio team with successful project outcomes.
• A passion for character and story driven video games.
