Snowdrop Ward is a modern newly refurbished 14 bedded ward based at Melbury lodge in Winchester which provides assessment and nursing care for older persons with acute mental health difficulties. We are committed to providing an exceptional standard of treatment and patient centred care for our service users in a safe, cooperative and therapeutic environment.
Our multi-disciplinary team includes Medics, Nurses, Therapists and Therapy technicians, Pharmacists and Pharmacy technicians, Health care support workers, Recovery workers and Social workers all working to provide the best possible care and aid people in their recovery. We offer excellent training and personal development support. Including regular supervision and appraisal.
Main duties of the job
You will need to be a registered mental health Nurse, have a genuine interest in working with older people and be able to demonstrate a real commitment to providing high quality and compassionate care to patients and their families. You can expect a rewarding role, with clear clinical leadership responsibilities.

The transformation will happen in staggered stages; Hampshire CAMHS, part of Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust joined Southern Health in February 2024, with Isle of Wight NHS Trust mental health and community services transitioning in early May 2024. The final combination of Southern Health and Solent Trusts is anticipated to occur in July 2024, when the new organisation will be formed.
Our new Trust will continue to cater to the unique needs of different communities, making healthcare across the county more accessible, as well as offering staff more opportunities for career development, training and partnership working.
