What we’re looking for…

You will be a key member of the Materials Planning Team, working towards creating and delivering materials relating to the weekly production schedule.  Ensuring all messages are managed in the correct manner via ERP operating system and working towards ensuring material availability as and when required.

As Senior Material/Project Planner your responsibilities will include;

You will support and achieve defined supply planning processes and objectives. Delivering the material management of said categories and ensuring delivery of materials in a timely manner to support production plans:

  • MRP Planning - Responsibility for the management and process relating to MRP outputs ensuring materials are ordered and available to meet production requirements. 
  • Responsible for ensuring all messages generated weekly from MRP are concluded and confirmations received and flagging risk where necessary to the site planning teams where necessary and escalating key component risks to Material Planning Manager to ensure communications flow throughout the business.
  • Responsible for ensuring all PO confirmations are received weekly and necessary changes to systems are made.
  • Responsible for building Material Run Out tracker relating to all business Projects ensuring the write off is kept aligned to project budget and all information shared is correct
  • Working closely with Materials Planning Manager and Project Manager ensuring all projects have first orders placed and write off mitigated.
  • Other administrative task as required from the department

What you’ll bring...

The successful candidate will have;

  • Ability to manage cut in cut out of new materials minimising write off costs.
  • Leadership skills - Ability to lead and develop a team of two material planners setting realistic priorities to meet the Planning Strategy.
  • Project Management  - Ability to support both the Materials Planning Manager and Project Planning Manager through the run in, run out of materials relating to all innovation, enterprise and CapEx projects.
  • Problem Solver - ability to review and engage across all stakeholders  to ensure solutions are sought for any challenges which may be faced and assist generate ideas and potential solutions to mitigate any risk.
  • Communication - this key skill is critical to the role as you will need to share information between the supply base and the internal planning teams.  Working closely with Supplier and other internal departments.  Ability to communicate at all levels and share information through different channels.
  • Organisation Skills - ability to prioritise workload in order to ensure that materials are available to meet plans and also ability to react to changes ensuring this is all managed timely.
  • Risk Management - ability to identify risks within projects and material availability ensuring these are mitigated and communicated effectively to relevant stakeholders.

  • Have an understanding of supply chain working practices
  • Strong computer IT skills with experience in spreadsheet management preferable
