Senior Planner

Rate: £450 to £563 per day Umbrella PAYE
Contract up to December however will be reviewed.
Location: Cumbernauld

My client, a main contractor with a Water Company is looking for a Senior Planner - Water to work out of the Cumbernauld area.

You will be responsible for programme creation in consultation with the Planning Team, Design Team and site teams. Having created the programme within the Planning Team guidelines and procedures you will; maintain, administer and progress the programme; liaise with estimators, subcontractors, suppliers, site staff and engineers to discuss the progress of the project; understand and identify programme risk and communicate this to the team; provide weekly and monthly reports and attend weekly and monthly meetings.

You will be required to collate, analyse and present cost and scheduling data in support of the management and the reporting needs of the project management office. You will need to maintain baseline information and produce variance reports for performance management. You will be liaising with the Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor to assess the impact of design or construction changes and schedule slippages and capture approved project changes (through change control) and updating programme baseline and ensure BMS Change Management procedures and processes are adhered to.

Requirements

• Good working knowledge of business management systems
• Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6
• Working knowledge of SW systems (Primavera unifier) would be an advantage.
• Experience of manipulating datasets and working with databases
• Reporting expertise through Power BI is desirable. Basic knowledge of Power BI is acceptable with additional training available
• At least 5 preferably 10+ years' experience in construction and/or water infrastructure? Water related experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
• Knowledge of basic engineering and construction principles
• Effective communication skills including writing reports and presenting.
