The Role:

As the Senior Staff Nurse in the Outpatient Unit you are responsible for delivering outpatient nursing services to patients within the unit and to deputise for the Lead Outpatient Nurse where required. This is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact and grow in your career.

What You'll Do:

Work in a clinical and service development capacity to ensure the service in Outpatients is planned, delivered, and evaluated in line with evidence-based practice. Work closely with our multi-disciplinary team to help create and maintain a robust outpatient service whilst seamlessly incorporating other centre services such as diagnostic, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Provide, information and advice to patients who attend outpatients Provide support and information to patients to those patients who are diagnosed and receiving treatment for malignancies.

What You'll Have:

Experience and skills:

Excellent communication and organisational skills Relevant clinical experience working within Outpatients Evidence of service development/improvements to current services Experience of working with cancer patients Experience in outpatients/diagnostic procedures Flexibility to meet the needs of the service (e.g. shift work) Ability to work accurately and reliably under pressure Ability to make decisions, organise and prioritise

Qualifications and Knowledge:

Registered nurse with a valid NMC Pin Phlebotomy ILS trained Evidence of post-registration professional development – Desirable Have undertaken an advanced communications course – Desirable Have undertaken a counselling course – Desirable Hold a teaching qualification – Desirable Ability to use common software packages and databases - Essential
