Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Therapeutic Involvement Worker to work in the Live Team. We are a small team based at Highbury Hospital but work across acute mental health inpatient wards and units across three hospital sites within Nottinghamshire. The team is focused on enhancing inpatient experiences, creating a sense of community and building partnerships with community providers and resources.

Candidates should be committed to improving services and supporting positive change. The post holder will be required to be flexible, adaptable and be able to meet varied expectations. The role requires a non-registered, individual with experience of working with individuals with mental health difficulties.

As part of the role you will be required to plan, deliver and evaluate therapeutic activities with individuals and groups, as well as having an understanding and knowledge of risk assessments. The post holder will be required to work with various multi-disciplinary teams, volunteers, activity coordinators and community partners.

Candidates will be expected to use a range of practical skills which may include creative skills, physical skills and horticulture skills. There is an expectation that the candidate will participate in team and own administration tasks including social media.

Main duties of the job

The Live Team is a small team based within Highbury Hospital - working across multiple sites within the Mental Health Directorate of Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

The Team works within Adult Mental Health, Mental Health of the Older Persons and Specialist Services inpatient setting, to improve the patient involvement, engagement and experience - through direct engagement, planning of groups and events, working alongside volunteers and students and creating networks with community services.

Main duties of the role include:

Plan and facilitate meaningful activity sessions - both one to one and group settings. Support the team in reviewing and evaluating sessions and input provided. Contribute to and have an awareness of risk assessments. Work with the multidisciplinary teams within ward environments to improve patient experience. Work with community services and providers to establish patient opportunities and experiences. Work alongside students and volunteers to provide meaningful activity and engagement. Work as part of a team to develop new ways of working and patients engagement opportunities. Admin and record keeping, in line with local and national policies. Actively seek and engage in learning and training opportunities.
