Main duties of the job

Primary Care transformation is at the forefront of health and care reform and an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced senior leader to transform, integrate, develop and deliver primary care at each place. HWE, has defined three places which include West Essex, East and North Hertfordshire and South and West Hertfordshire. The Senior lead will be part of a dynamic team and directorate working in partnership with primary care contracting, workforce, digital and estates and a range of stakeholders at place to deliver improved outcomes for the population we serve.

You will be a peer to other senior roles across the primary care directorate and provide support to a range of managers and officers within and external to the directorate. As part of the application and interview we need you to demonstrate how you have delivered large complex projects. We are looking for someone who wants to lead the programme the work, is professional, strategic thinker, highly organised and is able to respond efficiently and effectively to the ever changing demands of the role working in a partnership matrix way.

Person Specification

Knowledge, Training and Experience

Essential

Educated to masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area. Extensive knowledge of specialist areas, acquired through post graduate diploma or equivalent experience or training plus further specialist knowledge or experience to master's level equivalent Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development Must have an understanding of the background to and aims of current healthcare policy and appreciate the implications of this on engagement Should have an appreciation of the relationship between the Department of Health, NHS England and individual provider and commissioning organisations

Communication Skills

Essential

Provide and receive highly complex, sensitive and contentious information, negotiate with senior stakeholders on difficult and controversial issues, and present complex and sensitive information to large and influential groups. Persuade board and senior managers of the respective merits of different options, innovation and new market opportunities. Negotiate on difficult and very complex and detailed issues.
