Exciting Opportunity for a Science Teacher in Denton

Are you a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher looking for an inspiring role? Teaching Personnel is pleased to present a full-time position for a Science Teacher at an Ofsted Good secondary school in Denton. This role is available to start in September for the full academic year, with the potential for permanency based on performance. The salary for this role is £30,000 to £46,525 per annum, in line with PayScale.

Role Overview:

As a Science Teacher, you will have the opportunity to inspire and educate students across the three core science disciplines: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. You will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing Science lessons in line with the national curriculum, ensuring that all students develop a solid understanding of scientific principles, concepts, and practical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons covering a range of topics, experiments, and investigations in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, fostering students' curiosity and scientific inquiry skills.

  • Practical Skills: Organise and supervise practical science experiments and activities, allowing students to develop hands-on experience and critical thinking abilities.

  • Scientific Knowledge: Teach students fundamental scientific concepts, theories, and terminology, helping them to understand the natural world and its phenomena.

  • Assessment and Feedback: Regularly assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their learning and development.

  • Behaviour Management: Establish a positive and inclusive learning environment by implementing effective behaviour management strategies that promote respect, engagement, and participation.

  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Science department and across the school to share best practices, resources, and ideas for enhancing teaching and learning.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification with a specialism in Science (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics).

  • Strong subject knowledge across all three core science disciplines.

  • Previous experience teaching Science at the secondary level, preferably within a UK school setting.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.

  • Commitment to promoting scientific literacy, curiosity, and enthusiasm for learning among students.
