Job summary
The post holder will be required to provide a comprehensive secretarial and administration service for the Primary Intermediate Mental Health Team situated within the Families and Integrated Community Care Division.
Main duties of the job
The role will involve acting as a Medical Secretary to the consultants and clinicians. You will be accountable for the day- to-day management of your own and consultants clinical workload. An essential part of the role is the ability to manage and prioritise own workload without direct supervision including diary management, appointment making, dealing with telephone calls and enquiries and clinical typing.
About us
The BTH Primary Intermediate Mental Health Team (PIMHT) is a community mental health team based in Blackpool, within the primary care service. The PIMHT comprises of mental health practitioners who provide mental health assessments, short-term support and signposting to other appropriate services. The team's aim is to provide effective care in the community, with a view to reduce admissions into secondary mental health services. We are an integrated mental health team, working in partnership with secondary mental health services and others, including third sector colleagues.
Our service focuses on the prevention of lower level mental health problems developing in to serious illness and builds resilience, independence and aims to promote recovery within individuals.

Education and Qualifications
Essential
RSA or equivalent audio typing qualification or relevant experience Medical terminology or equivalent experience in Medical Secretary role Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
Desirable
ECDL or IT qualification
Experience and Knowledge
Essential
Relevant experience of working within a Medical Secretary role Relevant experience working within an NHS setting Experience of working with a range of people including health professionals and members of the public

Planning and servicing meetings and undertaking action points from meetings Experience of dealing with complaints / difficult people
