Position: Behaviour Support Assistant  
Salary: £12.82 per hour
Location: Bournemouth
Start Date: Immediately or January 2025
Contract type: Full-time

GSL Education are looking for a committed Behaviour Support Assistant to join a vibrant school in Bournemouth, working full-time to provide crucial support for students with behavioural needs.

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work closely with students who require extra assistance in managing their behaviour. Your role is key in promoting a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment. This role consists of both leading small group interventions and 1:1 tailored support, helping students understand their emotions, develop coping strategies, and build confidence in their ability to manage challenges.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering quality support, a strong understanding of effective behaviour management strategies, and the ability to confidently adapt to the diverse needs of pupils with resilience.

Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant).
  • Experience working with children, especially those with special needs and behavioural needs.
  • Good communication skills for interacting with students and staff.
  • Ability to manage behaviour positively and effectively.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff.
