Behaviour Support Assistant Role

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join a local secondary school in Bournemouth. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in promoting positive behaviour and fostering a supportive learning environment for students of Key stage 3 and 4.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young learners. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment that promotes positive behaviour and fosters academic success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist teachers in implementing behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and reduce challenging behaviour.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students with behavioural challenges, helping them to develop social skills, communication skills, and independence.
  • Collaborate with the school's SENCO and other professionals to create tailored intervention plans that meet the needs of students with diverse needs.
  • Contribute to a positive school ethos by supporting the overall well-being of students and promoting a culture of respect and inclusivity.
Requirements:
  • Relevant experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
  • Understanding of behaviour management strategies and their application in a school environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or psychology would be advantageous.
