Female Complex Needs Support Worker

Expansion of our current Supported Living Service – Shared Houses X 3.

You must live in the UK and have the Right to Work in the UK. SeeAbility is unable to support any sponsorship requests.

Location: Redhill, Surrey From Redhill station, please click and f rom Earlswood station, please click . Salary: £12.00 per hour (£23,400 per annum) pro-rata plus benefits.  Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday on a shift rota basis.  Shifts: 7.00am to 3.00pm and 2.00pm to 10.00pm, plus mid shifts dependent on the people we support and their individual needs and activities.  Contract: Full-time, Permanent (please note, we do not have any part-time vacancies).

Mental Health Behaviours that Challenge Substance Misuse Trauma Informed Care Autism and Learning Disabilities Positive Behaviour Support

The Complex Needs Support Worker role is essential and plays a key role in the overall experience to the people we support at SeeAbility. Over the coming months, Royal Hill Park have the opportunity to support further individuals with complex health needs, to live a more fulfilled life and ultimately become more independent.

We are on the lookout for knowledgeable Complex Needs Support Workers who are eager to join our inclusive and supportive team. Together, we work harmoniously to provide the necessary support to individuals with autism, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, physical conditions, trauma-related conditions, behaviours that challenge, and visual impairments.

In your role, you will utilise your expertise to assist the people we support. We highly value individuals who possess a strong work ethic and are open to the training we offer. You will be responsible for delivering both direct and practical support to the people we support and their families. It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience, and vigilance are important.

You will work in both 1:1 and group settings and be able to work independently and as part of a team. You will need to be calm, patient, and resilient and have a consistent approach. You will assist the people we support to engage in the interests they love. It is hugely rewarding to see the people you support improve; being able to do something today that they couldn't do last week, just because of you

Furthermore, as Complex Needs Support Worker you will be responsible for: 

Daily activities such as personal care; laundry; meal preparation; medication and administration. Getting to know the people you will care for and help them to live the life they want to live. Taking personal responsibility for the quality of care and assistance delivered to the people you support. Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the people you will support. Familiar with challenges supporting complex needs, including behaviours, trauma, self-harm and able to manage such situations in a calm, non-judgemental manner. Helping the people you support plan towards and achieve both short- and long-term goals. Planning and be in favour of activities, such as vacations, learning and social engagements, being creative and willing to explore new opportunities. Assisting the people we support, to manage their personal affairs making, preparing for, and attending any appointments. You will assist the people we support and their families, and ensure they are treated with respect, dignity, and equality. To work in accordance with SeeAbility’s values. Assist in the writing of reports and attend reviews where appropriate. Administer medication where necessary. Act as an advocate where appropriate. Contribute to team meetings and forums.
