Complex Mental Health Workers - Supported Living Apartments

You must live in the UK and have the Right to Work in the UK full time. 20-hour Student Visa's cannot be accepted. SeeAbility is currently unable to support any sponsorship requests.

Salary: £12.00 per hour (£23,400 per annum) plus benefits Hours: 37.5 hours per week, between 7.30am and 10.30pm, Monday to Sunday, this will include 2 core shifts: 15 hours – 10.30am to 10.30pm, sleep-in and then 7.30am to 11.30am 12 hours – 8.00am to 9.00pm on a shift rota basis.  Contract: Full-time, Permanent

The Role of Complex Mental Health Worker

The Complex Mental Health worker role is essential and plays a key role in the overall experience to the people we support at SeeAbility. Over the coming months, Royal Hill Park have the opportunity to support further individuals with complex health needs, to live a more fulfilled life and ultimately become more independent.

We are on the lookout for knowledgeable Mental Health Workers who are eager to join our inclusive and supportive team. Together, we work harmoniously to provide the necessary support to individuals with mental health conditions, history of alcohol or substance misuse, trauma-related conditions, behaviours that challenge, and visual impairments.

In your role, you will utilise your expertise to assist the people we support and share your knowledge to the wider team. We highly value individuals who possess a strong work ethic and are open to the training we offer. You will be responsible for delivering both direct and practical support to the people we support and their families. It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience, and vigilance are important.

You will work in both 1:1 and group settings and be able to work independently and as part of a team. You will need to be calm, patient, and have a consistent approach. You will assist the people we support to engage in the interests they love. It is hugely rewarding to see the people you support improve; being able to do something today that they couldn't do last week, just because of you

Furthermore, as Complex Mental Health Worker you will be responsible for: 

Daily activities such as personal care; laundry; meal preparation; medication and administration. Getting to know the people you will care for and help them to live the life they want to live. Taking personal responsibility for the quality of care and assistance delivered to the people you will care for Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the people you will take care of Familiar with challenges supporting complex needs, including behaviours, trauma, self-harm and able to manage such situations in a calm, non-judgemental manner. Helping the people you will assist plan towards and achieve both short and long term aims.  Planning and be in favour of activities, such as vacations, learning and social engagements always being creative and exploring new opportunities  Assisting the people we support, to manage their personal affairs making, preparing for, and attending any appointments. You will assist the people we support and their families, and ensure they are treated with respect, dignity, and equality. To work in accordance with SeeAbility’s values Assist in the writing of reports and attend reviews where appropriate. Administer medication where necessary. Act as an advocate where appropriate Contribute to team meetings and forums.
