About the Role

A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Hospitality Services Manager has arisen to Join our Team.

This opportunity is ideally suited for a highly motivated, hands on manager who wants to work with a large friendly team who all want to do their best to provide a five star service for those who live in our care home.

Role overview

The role is all about great and consistent customer service delivery for the people, serving delicious food and drinks, whilst maintaining the highest level of food safety in a tasteful and homely environment. We believe that within our 5 star beautiful setting where person centered approach is everything, the quality of life can be improved further with simple pleasures of delicious food and drinks served with individuals' needs and preferences in mind and communicating with them to ensure they're catered for in the way they prefer


Working within a highly experienced team you will;

  • Oversee and manage hospitality service delivery on a daily basis.

  • Ensure that all the customers' requirements are met and delivered, liaising with the reception, admin, care & kitchen team to ensure excellent customer experience is delivered at all times.

  • Have at least two years' experience of hospitality management from either a hotel or restaurant background.

  • Excellent customer service focus.

  • Strong inter personal skills.

  • Hands on approach and be part of the service delivery.

  • Good IT skills.

  • A desire to learn and develop your career.


About You

Care home experience is not essential for this role as we will offer full training The skills we1re looking for include;

  • Kind and caring with passion for people.

  • Ability to lead and develop a team of people.

  • Listening and great at making conversation with people from all walks of life.

  • Team player who works really well with other departments to ensure the best outcomes are achieved every day.

  • You will lead by example and problem solve as you go along.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are vital for this role.

Main purpose of the job:

To assist the Estate Food & Beverage Manager with the operation, planning for the delivery of excellent customer experiences and delivering the budgeted turnover and profit across the Food & Beverage operation at Ripley Castle Estate.


Reporting to:

Home Manager

Key Responsibilities and Duties :

  • Ensure the delivery of excellent and consistent customer service across the Food & Beverage operation across the Estate.

  • Work with the Food & Beverage Manager to ensure costs are managed and revenue is translated into profit, highlighting issues that will adversely impact the bottom line and devising strategies to mitigate the effects.

  • Manage and engage all employees to deliver high standards of service to customers, acting as a role model and ensuring the provision of appropriate staff recruitment, direction, communication and training.

  • Support with the innovation and execution of new ideas, menu planning, special events and offers.

  • Support with the effective implementation of any changes that are made, procedures and employees are engaged and communicated to effectively.

  • Supervision of all processes and procedures of all areas to ensure consistent high standards are met and maintained.

  • Ensure that high standards of housekeeping and maintenance are maintained throughout Food & Beverage areas, raising any areas of concern to the appropriate department.

  • Ensure we provide for a safe environment for our guests and employees.

  • Maintain positive working relationships with other departments within the Ripley Castle Estate to assist the overall development and performance of the business.

Other Duties

From time to time you may be asked to undertake other duties on the Ripley Castle Estate and training will be given if this is deemed necessary. All staff on the Ripley Castle Estate are expected to adopt a flexible approach and are encouraged to contribute new skills and ideas. Over time your key duties may change and your co-operation will be expected where such changes are reasonable.

This role is a rotational role, working across all Food & Beverage areas including The Boar’s

Head, Tearoom and Conference & Banqueting in the Castle.
