Priory Adult Care is the UK’s leading independent provider of specialist adult care services. Our aim is to provide the right support in the right home for all the individuals we accommodate.

With community-based residential care settings, as well as a network of supported living services, we support adults over the age of 18 with autism, dementia, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) and behaviours that challenge. We also offer a range of residential and nursing care settings for older people with varying levels of need.

Job Advert Location Description

Bank Positions Only

We are currently looking to grow our already established and dedicated team of support workers at our site near Preston.

Our bank position gives you the flexibility to work with us to fulfil shifts without following a set rota each week We typically have 4 differing shift times that are available to pick up on an adhoc basis.

The Bungalow provides specialist support for adult with Autism, Learning disabilities and mobility challenges . Our residents may at times present with mild/moderate challenging behaviours.

The service offers 24 hrs support and staff will be expected to provide the support needed to enable the people who use the service to reach their goals and to develop their self esteem and the skills they need to live as independently as possible. We recognise the importance of choice, but also how hard this can be for someone with autism and Asperger’s syndrome, so we seek to support people to understand what it is to make a choice and the consequences that follow.

Do you believe that everyone is entitled to the very best care and support?
Do you want to make a lasting difference in people’s lives?
Do you want to support people to help them achieve their goals, dreams and aspirations?

We do and we are passionate about providing excellent care and support to individuals with learning disabilities, autism and mental health conditions. As a support worker, you will have the opportunity to be part of 1000s of stories of inspiring care and support for our residents.

Our determination and resilience through a particularly difficult period has helped our service users get through this pandemic, and raised awareness throughout the nation of the work we do as a team. The role of a Support Worker has never felt more rewarding, giving you the opportunity to see, first hand, the positive impact you can make.

Through making a difference to people’s lives we can help make a difference to yours. Our Careers Pathway enables you to build a successful career within Social Care and choose your own path within this rewarding sector, from Support Worker through to Management and beyond.

Our ideal support worker will:

Be reliable, friendly and caring to help our service users achieve their everyday goals (including personal care)
Be able to support in house activities and hobbies
Be attentive and inspire our service users to achieve more
Be resilient and help manage some behaviours that challenge

Whilst drivers are able to take residents out and about, you don’t need to be a driver to work here – we employ many non-drivers too
