About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Play Support Worker to join our team at Achieving for Children. As a Play Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing a safe, stimulating, and enjoyable play or leisure environment for children and young people with disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support children with disabilities in a variety of settings, including group sessions and one-to-one activities.
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of play and leisure activities, ensuring they are engaging and accessible for all participants.
- Provide personal care, feeding, and moving and handling support as needed.
- Ensure the environment is safe, organized, and clean, and make a welcoming space for all.
- Work independently and as part of a team to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people.
- Support with administration of medication and emergency procedures, following training and guidance.
- Aware of safeguarding policies and procedures and take steps to ensure the well-being and safety of all participants.
- Write reports on daily events and activities, and follow local and organizational policies and procedures.
About You
We are looking for someone with a passion for supporting children and young people with disabilities. You will have excellent communication skills, be a team player, and be able to work flexibly, including after school, weekends, and holiday periods.
