The Role 
This is truly a generalist role, working closely with the hands-on directors who foster autonomy, enabling the People Manager to drive the people strategy and be part of future planning and decision making. The role has the support of a HR Admin who you would manage and delegate to day-to day and strategically. The role also partners alongside pub managers, building a close relationship to support all things people in a culturally flat hierarchy. Some key roles and responsibilities include: 

Recruitment and Onboarding - Oversee the recruitment and selection process to ensure we attract and retain top talent. - Develop the employer brand to make us stand out as an employer of choice. - Support succession planning and career development. 
Learning & Development- Identify learning and development needs.- Design, implement, and oversee a comprehensive L&D program. - Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and modify them as needed to ensure continuous improvement. 
Employee Engagement & Retention- Nurture the existing positive culture that promotes team engagement and well-being.- Develop and implement initiatives to enhance employee satisfaction and retention. - Monitor and assess engagement, making recommendations for improvement. 
Rewards and Recognition- Review pay rates and rewards, across the company and inform directors. - Analyse the staff-wide and commercial impact of NLW & NMW rises and present strategy to directors to reward and retain. 
- Sit and vote on council to set managers’ quarterly bonus target. 

Employee Relations, Policy & Compliance - Protect the company from liability of all matter’s personnel, backed up by retained consultants. - Ensure compliance with all employment laws and regulations (Licensing, Insurance, HSE, EHO etc). - Develop, update, and communicate HR policies and procedures. Handle occasional complex employee relations issues and investigations 
Systems Management - Build relationships with account managers and utilise systems within the business: - ATS (Harri), HRIS (S4 Labour), LMS (CPL), Engagement (Feeditback), Earned wage access (Hastee), Payroll (Dataplan) 
Ad hoc- Payroll - Reconcile and process payroll 4 weekly using an external bureau- Health & Safety – work with third party auditor and suppliers to ensure legal compliance
