We Are Survivors are currently looking for an individual that has the passion, drive, and determination to help us deliver our OUT Spoken Talking Therapy Services in our Greater Manchester and Merseyside estates on a part-time basis, as we continue to provide services in prisons across the Northwest.

Main duties of the job

Adhere to the organisational trauma-informed survivor-centric model and pathway including those aligned to the NHS, locally, regionally, and nationally - and IAPT pathways.

Deliver quality assured trauma-informed survivor-centric therapy services, in line with the organisations model and pathways.

Engage in peer-support of OUT Spoken Services staff.

Accurately record OUT Spoken interventions.

Attend internal meetings in line with organisational requirements.

Engage with and attend relevant external meetings engage, influence and input accordingly.

Keep informed of changes in policy at local and national levels.

Undertake specific OUT Spoken projects as directed by the Criminal Justice Services Director and-or Service Manager.

About us

For nearly sixteen years, We Are Survivors has providedsurvivor-focused therapeutic and advocacy support to male - including Trans andNon-binary - victims and survivors of sexual abuse, rape, and sexual exploitation.We have developed a three-tiered approach to services and underpin everythingwe do with a trauma and recovery framework pioneered by Dr Judith Herman.

We are currently commissioned to deliver trauma-informed therapy services in fifteen prisons across the Northwest of England and are looking for motivated and skilled practitioners to work in a fascinating, vital, and sometimes challenging environment.

Believe you are right for this role?

You will be a qualified counsellor / psychotherapist whoholds at least a Diploma in Counselling Psychotherapy or equivalent and beregistered with BACP or equivalent (preferably an accredited member). You willunderstand issues relating to trauma, be able to work as part of a team andfeel confident working in a prison setting.

In return for your time, experience, and commitment to theorganisation, you will receive an annual salary of £27,810; 25 days annualleave (increasing annually by 1 day to max of 30 days) plus bank holidays;birthday leave; company sick pay; monthly clinical supervision; pensioncontribution; a range of training opportunities; and access to differentbenefit schemes.

Note : salary and annual leave is based on WTE. We mayalso consider the opportunity to job share.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

REGISTRATION: BACP, NCS, UKCP (or similar). QUALIFICATIONS: Diploma in Counselling / Psychotherapy (or equivalent); Safeguarding Children / Adults Level 1; English (GCSE/similar or above)

Desirable

REGISTRATION: BACP Accreditation (or similar). QUALIFICATIONS: Masters Degree in counselling, psychotherapy; Certificate / Diploma in EMDR; PG Cert / Diploma in CBT.

Experience

Essential

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: Understanding of issues relating to RASSO (Rape and Serious Sexual Offences), particularly those relating to boys and men. Experience of providing 1:1 support or advocacy to adults and/or young people with vulnerabilities. Experience of processing data at a strict confidentiality level. SKILLS: Ability to prioritise own work load. Ability to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines. Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, or equivalent, and electronic database system. VALUES: Ability to hold and demonstrate in your conduct the adherence to the organisational values of Transparency, Integrity, Understanding and Responsiveness. A commitment to respecting diversity, inclusion and ant-oppressive practice.

Desirable

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: Experience of working within the Criminal Justice System, particularly in a prison setting. Experience of providing formal mentoring relationship. Experience of working within a highly confidential setting, adhering to information governance. Understanding of issues relating to rape and sexual assault, particularly those relating to boys and men. Experience of working within the voluntary, community or social enterprise (VCSE) sector.
