The Wiltshire Community Eating Disorder Service (WCEDS) is looking for an experienced mental health nurse with a passion for making a difference to adults who are suffering with an eating disorder. This is a community-based role.

The successful candidate will join our team providing specialist assessment and treatment to service users with eating disorders that have been referred to the community team. We engage with patients in a variety of settings including at a community hospital base, home visits and online appointments.

This role offers a wealth of clinical experience, development opportunities and strong links with the network of Nurses and multi-disciplinary professionals delivering specialist Eating Disorders services across the trust.

With a reputation for excellence, our service provides a stepped model of care tailored to the individual’s needs for stabilisation and recovery. We offer a range of programmes and evidence-based treatments to assist with this. Main duties of the job

This exciting role will enable you to provide a high quality, specialist service to patients referred to the Wiltshire Community Eating Disorder Service.

Using your clinical expertise, you will provide help and support to patients suffering with an eating disorder and adopt a lead role in the provision of evidence-based interventions.

You will be expected to exercise autonomous clinical responsibility for the assessment, treatment and discharge of patients in the service; whilst being embedded within a diverse multidisciplinary team. The role will enable you to offer professional leadership and expert advice, consultancy and supervision to support the work of colleagues providing care and treatment. You will also liaise with members of other disciplines and agencies responsible for client care.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

What we need from you:

· Registered Mental Health Nurse, with current professional registration

· Advanced clinical skills in the assessment and treatment of service users with eating disorders

· Post graduate training in and experience of delivering eating disorders evidence-based interventions.

· Experience of delivering professional leadership and expert advice, consultancy

· Evidence of involvement in innovative practice or service developments

· Be self-motivated and able to work autonomously as well as showing initiative and promoting new ideas on how to improve the service.

Be compassionate, caring and creative with excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

Registered Mental Health Nurse, with current registration Educated to degree level Advanced clinical skills in the relevant specialty Completion of evidence-based interventions for eating disorders across the age range Continuing registration with body overseeing practice of core mental health profession, e.g., NMC

Desirable criteria

Non-medical prescribing qualification, willingness to work towards Leadership training/qualification.

Knoweldge and Experience

Essential criteria

Post graduate training in and experience of delivering eating disorders evidence-based interventions Evidence of contribution to policy, protocols, and patient care pathway development Formal management skills and experience Evidence of involvement in innovative practice or service developments Formal leadership skills and experience

Desirable criteria

Published papers. Involvement in Quality Improvement and or Research

Experience of mentoring and clinical supervision of others Experience of teaching, facilitating and formal training course All new starters have a 6 month probationary period.
