A nursing opportunity has emerged within our flourishing specialized adult eating disorder inpatient service. Our dedicated team is focused on providing safe and innovative care, and we are recognized for our commitment to excellence, offering a tailored treatment model that aligns with individual patient requirements within a recovery-oriented framework.

Key Responsibilities
In this position, your primary responsibilities will encompass the following:
- Assume the nurse in charge role during shifts, ensuring the smooth and effective operation of the inpatient unit.
- Serve as the primary and secondary nurse on care teams for patients, providing a key worker role and regular communication with caregivers.
- Engage in facilitating the therapeutic group program.
- Administer medications as required.
- Assist patients during snack and meal times daily.
- Support and deliver Naso Gastric (NG) tube feeding (training will be provided).
- Perform phlebotomy (training will be provided).
- Supervise support workers and students.
- Work early, late, or night shifts as part of a 24/7 inpatient service.
- Collaborate with professionals from community teams and other inpatient services, including general hospitals.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
We operate as a multidisciplinary team with a distributed leadership model, ensuring that nursing remains central to patient care. We provide a thorough supervision and preceptorship program for trained nurses, with opportunities to learn skills based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), ensuring that nursing professional development is at the forefront of evidence-based practice.
You will have the chance to receive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-ED) and co-facilitate groups in areas of interest, such as DBT or creative arts. Regular support groups and educational sessions on various topics will be available to enhance your knowledge and experience.

- All new employees will undergo a 6-month probationary period, complemented by an induction process designed to foster a supportive working environment that allows new hires to learn essential aspects of their role over a reasonable timeframe.
- Candidates not currently employed by the Trust who attend an interview for non-qualified Band 1-5 positions are required to complete numeracy and literacy assessments.
