About our client

Our client who is charity andsocial enterprise is a national leader in the criminal justicesector delivering rehabilitation and residential programmes toreduce reoffending and homelessness. They work with individualswith histories of offending substance misuse mental illnesshomelessness and longterm unemployment. They deliver structuredsupportive programmes to allow participants to overcome personalproblems and develop skills confidence and resilience to move intowork and stable housing. They also run a community caf &training kitchen in Preston and are responsible for the operationof a Regional Centre for Lancashire and Cumbria redistributingsurplus food to communities in need throughout the region.

TheRole:

As Head of Programmes youwill lead the teams running our specialist support servicesemployment housing and residential services.

Bepart of the senior leadership team to drive the strategic directionof the charity and social enterprise forming strong internal andexternal stakeholder links to ensure successful delivery ofbusiness objectives; strengthen the management team throughidentifying skills gaps and developing a cohesive performancefocused culture. You will also be responsible for planning managingand reviewing the key deliverables of our programmes and serviceswhilst ensuring our participants are receiving the best service forthem.

KeyResponsibilities:

Lead and managea team of specialist services rehabilitation services includinghousing and employment. But overall provide a comprehensivewraparound service.

Oversee the coordination ofemployment opportunities housing assistance addiction services andgeneral support for beneficiaries.

Develop andimplement strategic initiatives to enhance the effectiveness ofrehabilitation programs.

Manage the Charity andSocial Enterprises engagement in the tender process to securefunding for rehabilitation projects.

Collaboratewith stakeholders to ensure alignment with organisational goals andobjectives.

PersonSpecification:

Qualifications:

Provenleadership experience in managing rehabilitation or similarprograms.

Strong understanding of the challengesfaced by exoffenders and the ability to designsolutions.

Excellent Organisational and projectmanagement skills.

Experience in successfullysecuring funding by bidwriting.

  • Working knowledge of the justice sectorincluding offending behaviours and offendermanagement
  • Working knowledge of healthrelatedmatters including substance misuse and mentalhealth
  • Knowledge of the support agencies thatcan assist with individuals who have complex needs (e.g. debtsubstance misuse housing etc.)
  • Flexibleapproach to work including willingness to travel and workoccasional unsociablehours.

  • Experience with computerprograms such asSalesforce.
  • Experience ofmanaging a case load of participants with complexneeds
  • Knowledge of the issues affectingindividuals with multiple barriers to progressing to sustainedemployment.
