In this role, you'll receive robust support to develop your clinical and leadership skills. We offer a tailor-made development programme designed to match your skill set and experience. Ideally, you should be educated to master's level or be willing to undertake a master's in Advanced Clinical Practice. You will benefit from the guidance of a supportive consultant mentor and the opportunity to develop specific competencies.

The role of Colorectal Advanced Specialist Practitioner is a pioneering position that we are proud to support.

If you are appointed on a Band 8a Annex 21 Contract your salary will be;

Year 1: 65% £37, per annum, pro rata Year 2: 70% £40, per annum, pro rataYear 3: 75% £43, per annum, pro rata

Main duties of the job

Job responsibilities

You will be a key member of the multi-disciplinary team, with the potential to work with other specialities to ensure that every patient referred into the rapid diagnostic centre receives quality care. As an autonomous practitioner, they will be responsible for developing and leading a comprehensive service for managing patients who are referred into the colorectal service on a two week rule pathway.

Person Specification

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

Highly motivated and experienced practitionerwith substantive range of experience within a relevant clinical setting. Broad & advanced knowledge of clinical pathophysiology Sound level of knowledge in relation to relevant invasive and non-invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures Has the knowledge and competence to support safe clinical decision making by interpreting multiple sources of complex infomation Broad and advanced knowledge and experience in colorectal conditions and management Knowledge of local and national guidelines and agendas relevant to role Proven leadership experience including delivering to targets and service improvement. Ability to work autonomously Ability to manage conflicting pressures to maintain streamline service delivery Leadership of teams or change initiatives Demonstrates current knowledge of professional and NHS issues and the implication for clinical environment. Enthusiasm and drive to improve practice through education and training Excellent presentation skills. Committed to continuing professional development of self and others Experience of clinical research Evidence of leading on clinical audit and translation to service development

Desirable

Knowledge of more than one area of clinical practice - surgery, medicine, orthopaedics, ITU Experience in managing chronic health issues

Qualifications & Education

Essential

Current professional Body registration ie NMC / HCPC Professional clinical qualification or Working towards a specialist qualification Non-medical Prescribing Qualification where professionally able to BSc in appropriate clinical field Masters level study in advanced clinical practice or working towards this. Evidence of continuing professional development

Desirable

Teaching Qualification (7307/Certificate in Education/equivalent) or willing to undertake. Advanced Life Support Qualification Leadership/Management qualification or willingness to undertake.
