Salary: £97 - £115 per day

Contract Type: Full-time or Part-time

Are you enthusiastic about guiding students and enhancing their learning experiences? GSL Education is excited to offer the opportunity for a proactive Behaviour Mentor to join various dynamic primary and secondary schools in Market Weighton, Hull from September 2024. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will be integral in supporting students' academic and behavioural development. Your role will involve creating lesson plans based on the curriculum, delivering tailored support in one-to-one or small group settings, and assisting students with SEND needs in the absence of teachers.

Responsibilities of Behaviour Mentor:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans in alignment with the curriculum.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students.
  • Assist in managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Support students with SEND and behavioural needs and adapt lessons to meet their requirements.
  • Monitor and track students' progress and report on their achievements and areas for improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to address students' educational and emotional needs.
  • Prepare and adapt materials for different key stages.
  • Help with classroom management and ensure a safe and productive learning space.

Behaviour Mentor Job Requirements:

  • CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance is essential.
  • Previous experience in a similar role or as Behaviour Mentor is mandatory.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Psychology or related field is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum requirements and key stages.
  • Ability to effectively support students with SEND and diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to adapt lesson plans as needed.
