Job Purpose

You will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of Welcomm's business development efforts. This dual-function position requires a unique blend of hands-on lead generation, team leadership, and mentoring. You will be responsible for not only generating high-quality leads and booking appointments, but also leading, coaching, and mentoring a team of Business Development Executives (BDEs) to achieve their targets. You will work closely with the Head of Business Development (HOBD) to align strategies, support broader company objectives, and ensure the team meets or exceeds its goals.

Responsibilities
  • Identify potential customers through research, networking, and other business development activities, tailoring your approach to meet their individual needs.
  • Manage your pipeline, track interactions, and follow up consistently to secure appointments.
  • Keep detailed records of all interactions and leads in our CRM system.
  • Schedule appointments for the Business Development Manager to sit, collaborate with them to ensure smooth transitions from lead generation to deal closure.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to BDEs on lead generation, objection handling, and communication, offering support in areas where they need development.
  • Review team performance data to identify improvement areas and make necessary adjustments, including coordinating with the HOBD and Head of Learning and Development to organise any training sessions for the team.
  • Work with team members on customer quality reviews, sharing results, giving constructive feedback, and actionable insights for improvement for the BDE team.
  • Collaborate effectively across all teams to ensure we deliver a seamless experience for all customers.
  • Promote a collaborative and supportive team culture that encourages growth and learning.
  • Address performance issues, alongside the HOBD, quickly and constructively, implementing improvement plans where needed, but also stepping aside when escalation is necessary.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development to stay current with industry best practices and enhance your own skills in business development, leadership, and management.
Experience and Skills/Qualifications
  • Maths and English GCSEs
  • Proven track record of successful lead generation and appointment setting in a B2B, KPI-driven environment.
  • Experience in mentoring, coaching, and managing a team of sales or business development professionals.
  • Experience communicating successfully with customers and negotiating.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems, lead generation tools, and sales analytics software.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyse data, identify trends, and implement effective strategies.
  • You have previous leadership training.
