Job Purpose

As a Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of our business development efforts. This dual-function position requires a unique blend of hands-on lead generation, team leadership, and mentoring. You will be responsible for generating high-quality leads, booking appointments, leading, coaching, and mentoring a team of Business Development Executives (BDEs) to achieve their targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify potential customers through research, cold calling, email campaigns, social media, and networking, tailoring your approach to their individual needs.
  • Manage your pipeline, track interactions, and follow up consistently to secure appointments.
  • Keep detailed records of all interactions and leads in the CRM system.
  • Schedule appointments for the Business Development Manager to sit, collaborate with them to ensure smooth transitions from lead generation to deal closure.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to BDEs on lead generation, objection handling, and communication.
  • Review team performance data to identify improvement areas and make necessary adjustments.
  • Collaborate effectively across all teams to ensure a seamless experience for all customers.
  • Promote a collaborative and supportive team culture that encourages growth and learning.
  • Address performance issues, implement improvement plans, and step aside when escalation is necessary.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development to stay current with industry best practices and enhance your own skills in business development, leadership, and management.
Requirements
  • Maths and English GCSEs
  • Proven track record of successful lead generation and appointment setting in a B2B, KPI-driven environment
  • Experience in mentoring, coaching, and managing a team of sales or business development professionals
  • Experience communicating successfully with customers and negotiating
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems, lead generation tools, and sales analytics software
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyse data, identify trends, and implement effective strategies
  • Previous leadership training
