Job summary

The Suffolk and North East Essex ICB isseeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Dietitian who is keen to work withinour Medicines Optimisation team to provide clinical and professional dieteticadvice and support on nutrition and the use of dietetic products. You will beresponsible for undertaking a range of activitiesthat support the safeand cost-effective use of oral nutritional supplements and vitamins. Thisincludes reviewing existing patients, making recommendations that follow localand national guidance/formularies, audits, upskilling GP practice staff andsupporting care homes.

We offer a mix of remote and office-basedworking to support team members to optimise their performance. The role is parttime offering hours a week. No evening, weekend, or bank holiday workingis required.

You will work closely with theICBs Medicines Optimisation teamacross Ipswich & East Suffolk and North East Essex areas.

Main duties of the job

1. Supporting health and care providers with optimisationof dietetic prescribing in a way that is high quality, safe, effective andequitable.

2. Support with elements of the dietetic cost improvementplan (CIP) and its implementation at place and system level.

3. Support the development of formularies, evidence-basedguidelines and policies.

Job responsibilities

This post is to provide dietetic support to the MedicinesOptimisation team with the aim to improve theclinical and cost-effective use of prescribed oral nutritional supplements andvitamins.

The roledirectly supports Primary care networks (PCNs), and GP practices with auditingand reviewing patients prescribed oralnutritional supplements and/or other dietetic products ensuring:

othe safe, evidence-based andcost-effective use of dietetic supplements and vitamins;

oproviding up to date, unbiasedinformation about dietetic supplements, treatments and care pathways;

osupporting practitioners andpatients to make the best use of dietetic supplements;

ominimising the harm caused bydietetic supplements;

oavoiding waste
