About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diabetes Specialist Nurse to join our team at Suffolk GP Federation CIC. As an advanced practitioner, you will play a key role in providing specialist diabetes care to patients across North East Essex.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as an autonomous practitioner in the provision of specialist clinics, providing highly specialist, evidence-based, and high-quality diabetes care to patients with complex needs.
  • Work collaboratively with Primary Care colleagues to deliver a holistic approach to diabetes management, including direct patient contact, mentorship, and audit.
  • Prescribe appropriate treatment as an Independent non-medical prescriber, and recommend treatment regimens to optimize clinical outcomes in accordance with local policies.
  • Demonstrate advanced clinical reasoning and decision-making skills, analyzing complex facts and situations to provide the best possible care for patients.
Requirements
  • Dietetic or health-related degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Post-registration training in Diabetes, or equivalent experience.
  • Non-medical prescribing qualification, or willingness to work towards.
  • Insulin pump training qualification, or equivalent experience.
