About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Podiatrist to join our team at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. As a Diabetes Specialist, you will be responsible for managing an inpatient clinical caseload and delivering various health professional education sessions.

Main Duties
  • Assessment and Treatment - Assess foot wounds and tissue breakdown on diabetic feet, provide specialist podiatry input in the care plan, and offer non-medical prescribing as clinically indicated.
  • Multi-Disciplinary Team Work - Participate in joint vascular and diabetic MDT ward rounds for diabetic foot patients, provide specialist podiatry input into CLI clinics, and support the management of complex foot and ankle wounds.
  • Communication and Liaison - Be the link between inpatient and outpatient care for patients with diabetic foot complications, ensuring seamless follow-up on discharge and coordination between community and secondary care.

Person Specification

We are looking for an experienced Podiatrist with a proven track record in working with diabetes patients. Essential qualifications include a BSc in Podiatry, current HCPC registration, and post-registration training in diabetes and diabetic footcare. Desirable qualifications include a non-medical prescribing qualification and experience of community and acute settings.
