About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Podiatrist to join our team at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. As an Inpatient Podiatrist - Diabetic Foot Specialist, you will play a critical role in the management of diabetic foot complications and provide specialist input into the care of patients with foot pathologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage foot wounds and tissue breakdown in diabetic patients, including pressure damage.
  • Provide specialist podiatry input into the care plan of patients with foot pathology, including debridement, antibiotics, and offloading/pressure relief.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) ward rounds and provide specialist input into the management of diabetic foot patients.
  • Support the management of complex foot and ankle wounds and liaise with community nurses regarding complex patients.
  • Act as a link between inpatient and outpatient care for patients with diabetic foot complications, ensuring seamless follow-up and care.
Requirements
  • Experience in the provision of high-risk treatments and diabetic assessments.
  • Considerable experience working in different clinical settings, including secondary care.
  • Experience of facilitation and working within secondary care, including audit and research.
  • Leadership and change facilitation skills.
  • Proven post-registration experience, including working with diabetes patients.
Person Specification
  • BSc or equivalent in Podiatry.
  • Current Health and Care Professionals Council Registration.
  • Post-registration training in Diabetes/Diabetic footcare.
