We have anexciting opportunity for you to be an integral member of a smalland growing ecology team working closely with our Director ofEcology and our senior ecologists. Ecology and biodiversity is arelatively new offering for Lanpro complementing our strongplanning and design capability. The role will suit you if you areselfmotivated enjoy site surveys are excited by a dynamic role andplaying an integral part in helping to build ateam.
We are looking forAssistant and Consultant Ecologists across our Norwich London andCambridge offices. We welcome applicants from both consultancy ornonconsultancy backgrounds who have either academic or vocationalqualifications.

JobPurpose
As an Assistant orConsultant Ecologist you will work closely with our seniorecologists and design teams to deliver ecology and biodiversitysurveys and assessments. This will include site surveys dataprocessing and reporting. You will also have the opportunity todevelop your clientfacing skills and will gain experience in thewhole project lifecycle.
You will have a soundunderstanding of relevant legislation and policy will be proactivein keeping yourself up to date with the latest developments andwill be able to apply this to your professional recommendations.You will have an understanding of the implications of theEnvironment Act 2021 and will have some experience of UK Habitatsurveys and the biodiversity metric. You will have a passion forthe discipline and we welcome applicants who are either generalistsor are pursuing particular specialist areas ofinterest.

KeyResponsibilities
Assist our seniorecologists design teams and project managers in all ecology andbiodiversity deliverables;
- Assistwith habitat and species surveys;
- Lead simplersurveys and/or surveys in your area ofspecialism;
- Communicate clearly and in a timelymanner;
Reportwriting;
- Carrying out desk studiesconsultations research data management andanalysis;
- Helping to scope proposals and workup fees;
- Health and safety riskassessment;
- Helping with the daytoday efficientrunning of the team and taking on some wider responsibilities e.g.booking equipment work planning team eventsetc.;
- Proactive participation in teammeetings.
Qualifications& Experience
In excess of oneyear relevant UK experience.
- Drivinglicence preferred.
- CIEEM membershippreferred.

- Able to undertake site work includingstaying away from home if required (with expenses paid by thecompany);
- Confident and motivated to work bothalone and as an assistant;

- Strong report writing and dataanalysis skills;
- Developing commercialknowledge;
