Role responsibilities
The purpose of the Project Manager role is to deliver transport related projects to improve transport services in line with Welsh Government transport policy and strategy.
Deliver a range of transport related projects, by applying robust project lifecycle methodologies (such as APM or PRINCE 2), undertaking early lifecycle project delivery, including scoping to support the Regional Programmes, implementing the project plan, schedule of all tasks, key milestones and resource management to ensure these are completed safely to time, cost and quality. Provide a professional and effective project management service, including project governance, reporting, technical working groups and executive steering groups, in accordance with the required processes and timelines to ensure the projects are aligned to Transport for Wales (TfW) processes and delivered to cost and quality. Manage the project budget by liaising with the appropriate Finance Business Partner and the Programme Manager, escalating any variances where required to ensure costs remain within the agreed budged. Manage and lead project teams by collaborating with internal colleagues and external contractors, stakeholders, and supply chain to ensure projects meet delivery outcomes.Who we’re looking for
Relevant degree such as Business, Engineering (or similar) or equivalent experience. Have a project management qualification such as APM or PRINCE2 or similar. Experience of the early-stage project delivery Proven experience of working on a variety of transport sector related projects as a Project Manager.Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
