Overall purpose of the job:
The Technical Design Authority (TDA) will be responsible for providing expert technical design and input across Exponential-e’s network infrastructure. This role will focus on designing and managing WAN, LAN, IP Transit, and network services, specifically involving hardware and technologies from vendors such as Nokia, Dell, Cisco, Palo Alto, and Fortinet. The TDA will play a crucial role in large-scale WAN solutions, including PWN (Private WAN Networks) and VPLS (Virtual Private LAN Services), ensuring seamless integration of these services into the customer ecosystem.
Key responsibilities for this job:
Design and Technical Input:
Technical Design: Provide expert technical design and input for WAN, LAN, IP Transit, and network services. Focus on hardware and technologies from Nokia, Dell, Cisco, Palo Alto, and Fortinet. Solution Development: Design and develop solutions involving large-scale WAN technologies, including Private WAN Networks (PWN) and Virtual Private LAN Services (VPLS). Integration: Work closely with the Service Architect to ensure network services are effectively integrated.Support for SDM and Support Teams:
Technical Guidance: Offer technical support and guidance to Service Delivery Managers (SDMs) and internal support teams. Troubleshooting: Assist in diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to network infrastructure. Best Practices: Ensure that network designs and implementations adhere to industry best practices and standards Change: Input into service and change as required to support ITIL aligned delivery and technical change.Collaboration with Account Director and Commercial Efforts:
Commercial Support: Provide technical expertise to support the Account Director in commercial activities, including client engagements and proposal development. Pre-Sales Activities: Participate in pre-sales activities, such as technical presentations and solution demonstrations. Stakeholder Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, clients, and vendors.Support the Head of Service Partnership:
Strategic Alignment: Work closely with the Head of Service Partnership to ensure that network services align with strategic goals and service delivery requirements. Service Improvement: Contribute to the development and implementation of service improvement plans. Industry Trends: Stay informed about the latest trends and best practices in network technology to keep services competitive and compliant.Documentation and Compliance:
Technical Documentation: Ensure all technical designs and solutions are well-documented and up-to-date. Compliance: Maintain compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Adjust designs and processes as needed to meet compliance requirements. Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports on design and technical activities to stakeholders.Continuous Improvement:
Service Enhancement: Identify opportunities for improving network services and implement enhancements to increase quality and efficiency. Best Practices: Promote the adoption of best practices and continuous improvement within the technical teams. Feedback Integration: Facilitate lessons learned sessions and apply feedback to future designs and implementations.Key Outputs:
Technical Designs: High-quality, well-documented technical designs for WAN, LAN, IP Transit, and network services. Effective Support: Efficient technical support for SDMs and internal teams, with successful resolution of issues. Service Integration: Seamless integration of network services into the customer ecosystem. Stakeholder Engagement: Strong relationships with key stakeholders and effective support for commercial efforts. Continuous Improvement: Enhanced service quality and efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives. Compliance: Adherence to relevant regulations and standards. Experience: Extensive experience in network design and consultancy, with a proven track record in handling complex network services. Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of network design and implementation, with a focus on hardware from Nokia, Dell, Cisco, Palo Alto, and Fortinet. WAN Technologies: Expertise in large-scale WAN solutions, including Private WAN Networks (PWN) and Virtual Private LAN Services (VPLS). Technical Support: Proven ability to provide technical guidance and support to SDMs and technical teams. Collaboration: Strong skills in collaborating with stakeholders, including Account Directors and the Head of Service Partnership. Documentation: Proficiency in creating and maintaining detailed technical documentation. Compliance: Understanding of network compliance requirements and relevant industry standards. Continuous Improvement: Ability to identify and implement opportunities for service enhancement. Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet) are advantageous.-
