Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Author to join our team at Lionbridge. As a Senior Technical Author, you will be responsible for creating and compiling Army Equipment Support Publications (AESPs) for armoured land vehicles. You will work closely with our project manager and technical publications team to ensure successful delivery of tasks aligned to the project and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage customer and internal technical relationships
  • Act as the operational and day-to-day technical expert and key point of contact
  • Scope and define tasks ready for production by the operational teams
  • Monitor deliverables to ensure quality and project KPIs are successfully met
  • Review project schedules to support successful and accurate delivery to key milestones
  • Develop process, training, and production methods, successfully deploying within the organisation to support efficiency gains
  • Work directly with the PM to create development strategies to ensure continuity of capability within the organisation to support the project and services
  • Work with and support the wider organisation to understand customer needs and develop solutions for new business opportunities
  • Review technology and software solutions to support automation and enhance offerings for our customers

Requirements

  • UK nationality and SC level clearance or no known reason why clearance may not be granted
  • Extensive technical and engineering competence gained in a relevant industry and environment, ideally military
  • Knowledge of the technical documentation environment within an engineering field
  • Proven experience in creating and compiling Army Equipment Support Publications (AESPs), demonstrating an understanding of military standards and specifications including DEFSTAN 00601 part 4 and STE
  • Familiarity with heavy armour, including armoured land vehicles, with an ability to understand and document complex mechanical systems and components
  • Familiarity with the defence industry and associated security process
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong English language capability
  • Strong stakeholder management and conflict resolution abilities
  • Demonstratable experience of being proactive, adaptable, and resourceful
