Job Title: Commis Chef
Location: Oldham

Role Summary: We are looking for a Commis Chef to join our kitchen team. As a Commis Chef, you will be an essential part of our kitchen operations, assisting in the preparation of ingredients, cooking, and plating dishes under the guidance of senior chefs. This role is perfect for someone eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced culinary environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Food Preparation: Assist with basic food preparation tasks, including chopping, peeling, and cooking, ensuring ingredients are ready for service.
• Cooking Assistance: Support the kitchen team during service, helping with cooking, plating, and ensuring dishes are presented to the highest standard.
• Kitchen Hygiene: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
• Learning & Development: Take every opportunity to learn from senior chefs, developing your skills and culinary knowledge.
• Stock Management: Assist with inventory management, including checking deliveries and proper storage of ingredients.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience: Some experience in a professional kitchen is preferred, but not essential.
• Cooking Skills: A basic understanding of cooking techniques and a passion for food.
• Teamwork: Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with colleagues.
• Attention to Detail: A commitment to maintaining high standards in food preparation and kitchen cleanliness.
• Adaptability: Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and evenings.
• Must be able to Drive.

Desirable Skills:

• Culinary Education: A culinary diploma or certificate, or working towards one, is a plus.
• Eagerness to Learn: A proactive approach to learning and developing new skills in the kitchen.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Salary: £14 per hour.
• Hours: 23-30 per week.
