ABOUT YOU

Due to year on year success and business growth, Intertek Melbourn is recruiting motivated and talented Biological Characterisation Scientists to join our team. We are looking for experienced scientists to utilise their knowledge, experience and skillset in LC-MS/MS for the analysis of primarily Biopharmaceutical products ranging from small molecules to large biological molecules. You will be familiar and proficient with use, routine maintenance and troubleshooting LCMS/MS instruments.

Required skills and experience:

BSc / MSc/ PhD in Biochemistry/Chemistry (or related scientific discipline) is essential.  In-depth knowledge of Biological Characterisation with extensive experience using Biophysical and Chromatography techniques for the analysis of biopharmaceuticals. Comprehensive experience of working in a GxP regulatory laboratory with strong understanding of GMP principles. Strong method development and validation experience. Experience of working with large molecules and proteins.  You should also be able to demonstrate experience training, supervising and coordinating the work of more junior scientists. Good practical laboratory and problem-solving skills.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Key activities:

Scientist working across a vast array of projects involving routine analysis, method development, method validations and troubleshooting which will range in scale, scope and timelines. Plan and perform analytical work, generating and interpreting data, writing reports when required.  Required to liaise with others inside/outside the department in a proactive and reactive manner in order to provide or obtain information to keep people informed so that work is completed effectively The job holder will also build relationships and contacts to facilitate future exchange of information.
