The Role:

Here at Survitec, we are currently recruiting for a Global Commodity Manager to join our team based in Dunmurry, Belfast. In this role you’ll be at the heart of our procurement strategy, building lasting partnerships and ensuring a consistent, cost-effective flow of materials for key life-saving products. Key responsibilities for the Commodity Manager role include but are not limited to:

Lead Strategic Sourcing: Develop and execute innovative, data-driven sourcing strategies across multiple procurement categories. Identify critical materials and alternative solutions to ensure seamless supply, especially during new product introductions.

Optimize Supplier Relationships: Manage and strengthen relationships with Survitec’s highest-performing suppliers, negotiating and implementing key contracts including negotiated prices, payment terms, termination clauses and SLAs, and ensuring clear, measurable standards for quality, cost, and delivery. Development of a regular review process to set improvement targets and management of operational issues.

Supply of Materials: Deliver consistent and appropriate supply of materials, based on deep understanding of Survitec products and processes, and a thorough and up to date knowledge of global supplier capabilities in key materials categories

Drive Cost-Down Initiatives: Partner closely with Engineering ensuring clarity on material specifications to achieve cost reductions in high-impact products, while still upholding Survitec’s quality standards. Oversee category budgets and deliver on financial targets in line with our annual operating plan.

Product Category Strategies: Development and communication of formalised category strategies, based on deep understanding of Survitec products, processes and stakeholder needs and business requirements

Performance Excellence: Implement advanced tracking tools, such as supplier dashboards, to monitor and enhance supplier performance in real-time. Conduct in-depth market and supplier research to proactively manage risks and uncover new opportunities.

About You:

Essential criteria:

·A 3rd level qualification or equivalent in a Business Studies, Economics or Engineering discipline

·Knowledge and experience in fabrics and/or textiles would be desirable.

·Experience in procurement, and supplier and category management. Some leadership experience is ideal, showcasing your ability to lead sourcing and cost optimization.

·A strong grasp of category management, performance metrics, and financial forecasting, enabling you to make data-informed decisions that advance Survitec’s goals.

·Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills to partner effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams, driving mutual success.
