The Role

 

A Securitas Security Officer is at the forefront of providing professional and detail-oriented security services for a range of clients, namely encompassing guarding, surveillance and interventions as required by our clients on a day-to-day basis. You will work on a rotation of 4 shifts on (2 day shifts followed by 2 night shifts) and then 4 days/shifts off.

 

Working on the site of our defence sector client, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of security standards to the required levels, going above and beyond to be a positive brand ambassador for Securitas and in ensuring the services you provide are delivered to the highest standards. You will be proactive in the undertaking of standard operating conditions and need to be on hand to respond to a range of security and safety threats or events.

 

In addition, your role as a Security Officer will include:

-        Reporting to the onsite Supervisor, you will be based on a large site for an international defence, aerospace, and security company

-        Play a vital security role in protecting critical information for air, maritime, land and cyber domains

-        Securely guard the property, including manning a static guardhouse. Protecting company assets, visiting customers and employees of our client

-        Carry out patrols across a large facility, walking perimeters both internally and externally

-        Remain alert and vigilant to detect and deter any suspicious or threatening activity and retain full control until the authorities arrive

-        Ensure health and safety procedures are always followed recording and reporting all faults, health, and safety hazards

-        You will operate radios other physical security equipment used on site

-        Carry out initial investigations and report both verbally and in writing on incidents, suspicious activities, objects, and vehicles

Essential Skills

What we need from you to become a Security Officer at Securitas

 

-        Hold a valid SIA licence

-        Due to National Security requirements of our client, you must be a British born British national

-        Provide valid proof of right to work in the UK and pass security clearance with 5-year checkable work history

-        A full, valid UK driving licence

-        Be able to work well individually and as part of a team

-        Be prepared to work outside in all 4 seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter

-        Be able to communicate clearly in written and verbal formats

-        Be able to make timely and informed decisions which you can justify

-        Be reasonably fit, as walking and foot patrols are required

-        A flexible and responsive approach to balance changing needs, requirements, and urgencies

-        A commitment and understanding of delivering high levels of customer services
